A female operator is not amazing to countries with rich vending history. Quite the contrary many companies (or vending nets) are headed by representatives of the weaker sex. Mostly a woman is involved into business according to the following pattern: she follows her husband, keeps a check on the paperwork with accuracy residing in woman, reminds of the necessity to purchase the filler to her keen and absent-minded husband and then, at one time or another, she takes control over the business into her own hands, for instant, when the man finds more serious undertaking.
Modern women are able to launch a startup perfectly without male assistance ā since the necessary outfit is available. The presence of such necessary attributes for a startup as capital, a car and a registration ā is absolutely not a problem. Some observations show that women are even more successful in some things than male vending operators. For example, a woman always feels and knows better what is interesting and popular among children, youth and women (due to keeping abreast of the fashionable tendencies by means of women and youth magazines) so she could actively react on the merchandise assortment change ā whether it is foodstuff or personal hygiene products. A woman would be more pedantic in keeping the vendorsā appearance in order. At her earliest suspicion on vendorās malfunction she wouldnāt try to fix it on her own (doing harm both to a vendor and her nerves) but would seek professional help. All these assertions, of course, are polemical but they have the right to existence.
There are some difficulties as well. For instance, it is harder for a woman to come to understanding about promotion of positive image of a vending machine with an individual employed sales assistant of the sales outlet. Shop salespeople are mainly women and they take any other woman as a potential competitor. Of course, such āweaponā as a compliment to a saleswoman, hand kissing and a chocolate as a present will always run free.
At the same time there are a lot of types of work that can be performed by both a man and a woman ā from a company head (an owner of the vending network) and a vending operator to service personnel, sales official, production promoter, etc. Therefore, vending is rather a unisex business where a woman would always find her place. |
